Day 1: (Wednesday): Delhi

Day 2: (Thursday): Jaipur

Visit Amber Fort, City Palace and Museum, Jantar Mantar Observatory, Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, and Birla Temple. Revel in Rajasthan's desert landscape and grandeur that has inspired many romances and witnessed many a battle. Return to the station to board the Palace on Wheels for dinner and overnight journey to Jaisalmer.

Day 3: (Friday): Jaisalmer
Breakfast aboard the luxury train as the Palace on Wheels makes its way into Rajasthan's desert citadel. Alight from your stately carriage and be escorted on a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the grand Jaisalmer Fort; go on a camel safari to Sam sand dunes. Indulge in sand-surfing, interact with the desert tribes, view the spectacular sunsets, attend the vibrant cultural performances, and shop at the traditional markets of Jaisalmer. Return to the station to board the Palace on Wheels for dinner and overnight journey to Jodhpur.

Day 4: (Saturday): Jodhpur
Breakfast aboard the luxury train as the Palace on Wheels makes its way into Rajasthan's desert masterpiece. Alight from your stately abode for the vacation and be escorted on a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit Mehrangarh Fort, Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhavan Palace, and a group of white marble cenotaphs of royal origin. Return to the station to board the Palace on Wheels for dinner and overnight journey to Sawai Madhopur.

Return to the Palace on Wheels for lunch and journey to Sawai Madhopur, gateway to Ranthambore National Park. Evening tea and overnight stay on the luxurious Palace on Wheels.

Day 5: (Sunday): Sawai Madhopur - Chittaurgarh
Breakfast aboard the luxury train as the Palace on Wheels makes its way into Sawai Madhopur, gateway to Ranthambore National Park. Go on a jungle safari in an open-top jeep or elephant to Ranthambore National Park, and enjoy game-viewing, birding tours, and treks to the Ranthambore Fort. Return to the Palace on Wheels for lunch and onward journey to Chittaurgarh. Visit the legendary Chittaurgarh Fort upon arrival. Return to the Palace on Wheels for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: (Monday): Udaipur
Breakfast aboard the luxury train as the Palace on Wheels rests at the station. Alight from your stately carriage and board the luxury coach that takes you on a sightseeing tour of the Udaipur - 'the city of lakes'. On your sightseeing tour through this majestic oasis, visit the Lake Palace, City Palace, Lake Pichola and Jagdish Temple and indulge in water activities, and architectural and nature walks. Return to the Palace on Wheels parked at Chittaurrgarh for dinner and overnight journey to Bharatpur.

Day 7: (Tuesday): Bharatpur - Agra
Breakfast aboard the luxury train as the Palace on Wheels arrives in the bird lovers' paradise, set in the rare green belt of Rajasthan. Alight from the luxury train and go on an escorted drive to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary at the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Home to many endangered native and migratory birds from as far as Iran and Siberia, its star attraction in the Siberian Crane. Return to the Palace on Wheels for lunch and onward journey to Agra.

On the stopover at Fatehpur, visit the ruined fort city of Fatehpur Sikri. Built in red sandstone, the palaces, mosque and shrine of Saint Salim Chisti at Fatehpur Sikri speak of the saga that marked the rise and fall of Akbar, Mughal Emperor. Post lunch aboard the Palace on Wheels, reach Agra and visit the Taj Mahal, epitome of eternal love cast in white marble. Later in the day, visit the colossal Agra Fort and the tomb of Akbar. Return to the Palace on Wheels for dinner and overnight journey back to Delhi Cantonment.

Day 8: (Wednesday): Delhi
Chug into the station with royal pageantry of yesteryears to bid farewell to the week that was a throwback to the glorious days of the Raj. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast aboard the Palace on Wheels before alighting from the train. Proceed to the airport to board the flight back home or to your onward destination.
