Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
Begin your tour of India's rich cultural and historical diversity spanning the North to the Eastern coast of India from Delhi, the capital of many dynasties. Arrive at the international airport in Delhi where our representative greets you and escorts you to the hotel. After a traditional Indian welcome at the reception, check in and relax for the day. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi
Highlight: Sightseeing tour of New and Old Delhi
Today you will explore the monuments and marvels of the New and Old Delhi on a full day sightseeing tour. Visit Lotus Temple, Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate, Raj Ghat, Connaught Place, Humayun's Tomb, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, and Qutub Minar. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 3: Delhi - Jaipur
Highlight: Forts and Palaces of Rajasthan
Today you will drive to Jaipur in the morning. After arriving in the city splashed in pink and guarded by centuries old city walls, check in at the hotel and relax. Post lunch visit City Palace, Royal Observatory and Ram Niwas Gardens. In the evening, walk down to the ancient markets and shop for souvenirs and curios. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 4: Jaipur
Highlight: Elephant Ride at Amber Fort
Today you will check out the spectacular Amber Fort and its many palaces and courts after an elephant ride or a walk along the ramparts. Later in the day, visit Hawa Mahal, Birla Temple, Jaigarh Fort, and Nahargarh Fort. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 5: Jaipur - Agra
Highlight: The Ruined Fort City of Fatehpur Sikri
Today you will drive to Agra. En route, visit the ruined fort city of Fatehpur Sikri famous for the Buland Darwaza (the largest gateway in the world) and other stunning monuments built in red sandstone. On arrival in Agra, check in at the hotel and relax for the day. Later in the evening, explore the colorful markets of the city and shop for souvenirs and eat out or return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Agra.
Day 6: Agra - Varanasi
Highlight: Sightseeing and Taj Mahal in Agra
Today you will explore the Mughal city of Agra on a half day sightseeing tour. Visit the Taj Mahal in the early morning sunlight. Later, check out the colossal Agra Fort, and its many palaces, mansions, and museums, Akbar's Tomb, and Itimad-ud-Daulah. Return to the hotel for lunch and rest. In the evening, transfer to the railway station and board the train to Varanasi. Dinner and overnight stay aboard the train.
Day 7: Varanasi
Highlight: Excursion to Sarnath
Today you will arrive at the Varanasi station. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in. After breakfast and refreshments, proceed on an excursion to Sarnath. Return to Varanasi and attend the evening aarti on the ghats (banks) of Ganga. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Varanasi.
Day 8: Varanasi - Bhubaneswar
Highlight: Boat Ride on River Ganges
Begin your day with an early morning boat ride on the Ganges. Return to the hotel for breakfast and proceed for a sightseeing tour of the oldest surviving city in the world. Visit the Bharat Mata Temple and the Banaras Hindu University. Also visit the famous cremation ghats of Harishchandra and Manikarnika. If time permits, you may also tour a textile factory that marks the face of the modern city. Post lunch, transfer to the railway station to board the train to Bhubaneswar. Dinner and overnight stay aboard the train.
Day 9: Bhubaneswar
Highlight: Temples of Orissa
Today you will arrive in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa also known as 'the land of a thousand temples'. Transfer to the hotel on arrival and check in. After breakfast and refreshments, move for half day city sightseeing tour. Visit the Lingaraj, Rajarani, Mukteswar, Brahmeswar, Parasurameswar temples, botanical gardens, Cactus Park, and the state emporiums and handicraft showrooms. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Bhubaneswar.
Day 10: Bhubaneswar - Puri
Highlight: Excursion to Konark
Today you will drive to Puri in the morning. En route, stop at scenic locations and tribal villages to get a complete picture of the diversity that unites the state of Orissa. Check out the spectacular Heerapur Dam in Sambhalpur, appliqué work of Pipli, the Shanti Stupa and Ashoka rock edicts at Dhauli, and the magnificent Konark Sun Temple in Konark. On arrival in Puri, check in at the hotel and relax for the day. Dinner and overnight stay in Puri.
Day 11: Puri
Highlight: Beaches of Orissa
Today you will explore one of the holiest pilgrimage destinations in India on a half day sightseeing tour. Visit the mammoth Jagannath Temple. End the day on the inviting Puri Beach. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Puri.
Day 12: Puri - Kolkata
Highlight: Leisure Activities
The day is free for you to enjoy at leisure. Relax in your room or enjoy the many recreational facilities available at the hotel. You can also spend another languid day on the beach, go on a boat ride and shop at the local markets. Return to the hotel in the evening and transfer to the railway station. Board the train to Bhubaneswar. Dinner and overnight stay aboard the train.
Day 13: Kolkata
Highlight: Sightseeing in Kolkata
Today you will arrive at the station in the morning. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and check into your room. After breakfast and refreshments, proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of the former colonial capital. Visit Victoria Memorial, BBD Bag, Eden Garden, Howrah Bridge, Flurries etc. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Kolkata.
Day 14: Departure from Kolkata
Today marks the end of your North and East India Tour. Transfer to the airport in the morning for a flight back home or to your onward destination.
