Location: Bandhavgarh National Park is located around 195 kms from Jabalpur and 210 km off Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh.
History:Famous for its wildlife heritage, it has a deep rooted importance because its related to mythology of India. The fort of Bandhavgarh dates back to the mythological era of Rama and Hanuman from the Hindu epic Ramayana. Bandhavgarh Fort was used by Rama and Hanuman on their journey back to their kingdom from Lanka. Presently this fort is owned by the Maharaja of Rewa. Initially it was just 105.40-sq-kms in area with just 25 Tigers. Today it has been extended to an area of 437 sq-kms. It came in to existence as a National Park in 1968.

Rail: The nearest railhead is at Umaria at 30 kms. It's on the Katni- Bilaspur section of South- Eastern Railway.
Road: It's situated on the Satna-Umaria and Rewa- Umaria highway. Madhya Pradesh State Transport bus services are also available from Rewa, Satna, Katni and Umaria.
